BLACK TEACUPS

Sometimes I drink caffeine. Even though I KNOW it will keep me up until 5 AM. And one day I did drink caffeine, and it DID keep me up until 5 AM. This post is the result.

There's just nothing like browsing Etsy in the wee hours of the morning for things you absolutely do not need/don't have money for. It's the perfect mix of conditions for curating items that bring you inspiration, such as these gorgeous black teacups. They're so perfectly delicate and irresistibly morbid, like that heart-wrenching, depressing book you can't get over

Sources, clockwise from top left: Wicksteads, Circle Collectables, Wattie, & Kiteless.

If I had a collection of black teacups, I would save them for whenever I need to soak up some literary melancholy and be (only slightly) comforted with a spot of tea.

Which one is your favorite? I love them all, but I think Wattie's teacup with the Trillium lilies is darling.

P.S. This is the first post in my new section "Let's Have a Look-see." I'll be curating items that suit my fancy... Can't wait to do more; this one was so much fun! Guess I should drink some more coffee ;)

P.P.S. Wit & Delight shows you How to Throw Yourself a Pity Party.

  1. Love these finds! So sleek and striking. I have a set of black clover depression glass that was my great grandmothers. There is something "irresistibly morbid" about them... well said!

  2. Thank you, Hannah!! I had never heard of black depression glass; just googled it and I LOVE it. Isn't it funny how just simply changing the color of something changes its mood so dramatically?
